An object that is not a state of affairs, i.e., it has no constituents, is an ultimate object.
As with all objects, what distinguishes one sort of ultimate object from another is the set of attributes (properties and relationships) such an object can have. The choice of an ultimate object sets strong limits to what there can be in the world that corresponds to that choice.
These limiting cases are familiar to us in phrases like "the world of baseball", "the world of physics", or "the world of Hollywood".
