Fact

In stating a fact we are dividing the set of all possible worlds into two groups, i.e.,

  • those in which what the fact states is the case and those in which what the fact states is not the case, or
  • those that fit the description and those that don't;
and we are saying that the real world belongs to the first group and not the second.
